英语中，动词在句子中起到关键的作用。对于动词必须有时态，而“时态”顾名思义由“时”和“态”组成，
一般现在时
一般现在时是动词最基本的时态。
这里的“现在”是广义上的现在
- 狭义上的现在：某一瞬间（现在进行时专指狭义上的现在）
- 广义上的现在：扩大“现在”的概念范围至任意的很长一段时间（客观事实、公理因此使用一般现在时）

中国是四大文明古国之一。 太阳绕地球公转。 物质由原子或分子构成。
一般现在时可用于： 发生许多是动作 一直发生的动作
Be 动词
Be 动词是英语中最基本的动词。作用相当于“是”
Be 动词一般现在时的三种形态

Be 动词的缩写
Be 动词在非正式场景时可以缩写:
- I am => I'm => I am not (无缩写)
- He/She/It
- He is => He's => He isn't
- She is => She's => She isn't
- It is => It's => It isn't
- We/You/They
- We are => We're => We aren't
- You are => You're => You aren't
- They are => They're => They aren't
注意
- "You" 可以表示你或你们
- 在正式写作中禁止使用缩写
- Be 动词和主语的单复数保持一致
- 注意辨明主语究竟是什么（不要看到-s就认为是复数）
Be 动词与主语单复数的配合
A book is necessary. 这里的主语是 "A book" 这一件事物，故使用单数 "is" 作为 Be 动词。
Books are necessary. 这里的主语是 "Books" 这多件事物，故使用单数 "are" 作为 Be 动词。
Reading a book is necessary. 这里的主语为 "Reading a book" 这一件事，而非 "Book" 这件物品，因此使用单数 "is" 作为 Be 动词。
Reading the books is necessary. 这里的主语为 "Reading the books" 这一件事，而非 "Books" 这样的多件件物品，因此使用单数"is" 作为 Be 动词。
Reading a book and weiting a paper are necessary. 这里的主语为 "Reading the books" 和 "weiting a paper"这两件事，因此使用复数 "are" 作为 Be 动词。

常见错误
- 缺动词；
- 单复数与主语不一致；
- 否定形式错误。

介词短语
一组词，以介词（in、on、at…）开始，包括一个名词或代词，这个名词或代词叫做介词的宾语。
- 表地点的介词短语 e.g at home, on the desk, in my house…
- 表时间的介词短语 e.g in the morning, on Sunday…
- 无需要介词的时间词与时间短语 e.g. every afternoon, daily…
注意：
- 如果时间短语与地点短语同时出现，时间一般放在地点后面。 e.g at the school in the morning…
- 如果地点短语或时间短语放在句首，则需要使用逗号隔开。 e.g In the spring, everyone has finals.
